how to get there

my visit to Rikugi-en

Rikugi-en is arguably Tokyo's most beautiful Japanese style landscape garden. Built around 1700 by Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu, Rikugi-en literally means "six poems garden" and reproduces in miniature 88 scenes from famous poems.

Rikugi-en is quite a spacious garden with a central pond, islands, woods, man made hills and several tea houses.

It takes about an hour to cover the garden's whole network of walking paths.
